Enter Simon Purdom and Camden Nauroth, two of the Dorothy Center’s resident cool kids who see right through Jake’s machismo. They offer him a deal: he can use the printer, but only if he agrees to a series of “tasks” that will help him understand and embrace the LGBTQ+ community. Jake is skeptical but desperate, so he agrees, leading to a series of hilarious and eye-opening encounters. Alongside them is Kiki Medina, a charismatic and sharp-witted student who becomes Jake’s unexpected ally and guide in this transformative journey.
What follows is a series of comedic misadventures that challenge Jake’s preconceived notions and force him to confront his own biases. From attending a Pride workshop to participating in a drag show, Jake’s journey is filled with laughter, awkward moments, and surprising connections. As he navigates this unfamiliar territory, Jake starts to see the world—and himself—in a new light.
Meanwhile, his fraternity brother, Chris Mithel, is oblivious to Jake’s transformation and continues to pressure him to act like the “dude bro” they know and expect. But Jake is changing, and he’s not the only one. By the end of his journey, Jake doesn’t just find a way to print his essay; he discovers a new perspective on life, friendship, and what it means to be true to oneself.
“Game Face” is a heartwarming and hilarious ride that reminds us that change can come from the most unexpected places. It’s a story about breaking down barriers, embracing diversity, and finding the courage to be your authentic self, all while saving your place at The Game.
